MOLDING PROCESSES
When OEM design and product engineers encounter a need for an elastomer to solve
a unique design or functional requirement, they almost always turn to silicone.
We are an experienced custom silicone fabricator capable of a variety of molding
processes to provide the best solution for the job. All of our molding utilizes
highly advanced equipment. Whether it's by compression, injection or transfer,
using liquid or silicone sponge, we can mold it!
Injection Molding
LIM®/LSR® Liquid Injection
LIM®/LSR® materials have a lower viscosity
and are very well suited for this highly automated method of molding.
This process is ideal for very tight tolerances, elaborate geometries,
thin walls or very small parts.
High-Consistency Injection
This process is the same as LIM®/LSR® except the cycle times are slower.
It allows us to utilize the same process controls as an injection molded
part on a high consistency material.
Insert/Overmolding
We can mold silicone to various temperature stable
substrates including thermoplastics, metals, fabrics, silicone and non-silicone elastomers.
Transfer Molding
This process is used widely for molding silicone components.
It has certain benefits over compression molding and may make insert molding easier.
